GoldCopper
Mine life
17 years
Overview
The Northern Molong Porphyry Project is an exploration project and not an operating mine. Alkane Resources is conducting significant exploration activities, including drilling, to grow its understanding of the regional geology and identify new deposits. The project is covered by five exploration licences across 180 square kilometres. Within the broader project, the Boda-Kaiser deposits are being progressed via a scoping study and baseline environmental assessments to evaluate the potential for a long-term, bulk-tonnage mining and processing operation.
Processing
As an exploration project, there is no operational processing plant. However, metallurgical test work has been conducted on deposits within the project area, such as Boda, to estimate potential metal recoveries.
Equipment
Exploration activities utilise diamond core and Reverse Circulation (RC) drill rigs. An Airborne Gravity Gradiometer survey using the FALCON system was flown over the entire project area in late 2023 to image geology to a depth of 500-600 metres. Other field exploration techniques include aeromagnetic and electrical geophysics.
