almost 1,100 during steady-state operations
Production
The Optimised Pre-Feasibility Study (OPFS) outlines average annual production of 222,000 tonnes of natural rutile and 233,000 tonnes of natural flake graphite over the initial mine life. At a steady state, the project is anticipated to produce approximately 246,000 tonnes of rutile and 265,000 tonnes of graphite per year.
Processing
The project will use conventional processing through physical separation. A graphite-rich concentrate will be collected from gravity spirals and processed in a separate graphite flotation plant.
Equipment
The mining fleet is planned to include draglines, large excavators, mine trucks, front-end loaders, dozers, and graders. Potential suppliers identified include Caterpillar, Komatsu, Liebherr, Hitachi, and Volvo.
Expansion
The project is currently in the Definitive Feasibility Study (DFS) phase, which is expected to be completed in the first quarter of 2026. An Optimised Pre-Feasibility Study (OPFS) was completed in January 2025. A March 2026 updated Mineral Resource Estimate significantly increased the resource confidence, with a total mineral resource of 2.1 billion tonnes at 0.96% rutile and 0.95% total graphitic carbon. The project will use a dry mining method, which was confirmed in pilot phase trials in 2024.

more than 200 full-time equivalent roles during the construction phase and more than 100 full-time equivalent roles during the operational phase.
Production
Stage 1 is designed to produce an average of approximately 15,300 tonnes per annum of monazite concentrate. This will contain about 8,400 tonnes per annum of rare earth oxides.
Processing
The processing method is a simple flowsheet using gravity and magnetic separation with limited reagents to produce a premium concentrate with a 55% Total Rare Earth Oxide (TREO) grade. The process plant is designed to process 60 tonnes of ore per hour.
Equipment
The owner-operated mining fleet includes equipment from Komatsu.
Expansion
The project is fully permitted and fully funded for Stage 1 construction. Lindian Resources increased its ownership to 100% in late 2025. Early construction works are underway, and a design-and-construct contract for the Stage 1 processing plant has been awarded. A 15-year offtake agreement for a portion of the production has been signed with Iluka Resources. The project is noted for its high-grade mineralisation and low levels of radionuclides.
