Processing
The Pilgan Plant is one of two processing plants at the Pilgangoora Operation and produces spodumene and tantalite concentrates. The plant has undergone significant upgrades, including the P680 and P1000 expansion projects, to increase production capacity. The P1000 expansion included a major upgrade to the plant's concentrator. As of December 2024, the nearby Ngungaju Plant was placed on care and maintenance, with the Pilgan Plant being the single operating processing plant. A feasibility study for a further expansion, the P2000 Project, is underway with outcomes expected in the December Quarter of 2025. This expansion would require the construction of a new whole-of-ore flotation plant.
Equipment
The overall Pilgangoora Operation uses conventional open-pit mining with truck and hydraulic excavators, along with drill and blast methods. The Pilgan Plant is supported by a crushing and ore sorting facility, described as the world's largest lithium ore sorter.

Production overview - 2023: gold 558333 oz; 2022: gold 713333 oz.
Processing
The processing method involves pressure oxidation in autoclaves followed by a carbon-in-leach circuit. A plant expansion project, which reached commercial production in the third quarter of 2024, is designed to increase throughput. The expansion aims to achieve an 85% recovery rate in 2025 and is targeting 90% by 2027. The conversion of the Quisqueya 1 power plant to natural gas was completed in 2020, which is expected to decrease greenhouse gas emissions by 30%.
Equipment

Expansion
A major plant expansion and mine life extension project is underway to sustain average annual gold production above 800,000 ounces (100% basis) and extend the mine's life beyond 2040. The total estimated capital cost for the project is US$2.1 billion. Phase 1 of the expansion, related to the process plant, was completed and achieved commercial production in the third quarter of 2024. A delayed ramp-up occurred due to the failure of a feed conveyor, which has since been reconstructed. Phase 2 focuses on a new tailings storage facility (TSF) called El Naranjo. The feasibility study for the Naranjo TSF was completed in the third quarter of 2024, and tenders for major construction contracts have been released. Early works for the new TSF are expected to begin in 2025. The project requires a resettlement action plan for local communities.

Overview
The Rock Creek project, acquired by Hecla Mining Company in June 2015, is a proposed underground copper and silver mine and mill complex located approximately five miles northeast of Noxon, in Sanders County, Montana. The project is currently on hold due to a 2021 court ruling that invalidated federal authorization, requiring new analyses for future permit applications.
Processing
Proposed mill complex.
Expansion
Hecla has withdrawn the previous owner's plan of operations and is not actively seeking permits for construction. A 2021 court ruling invalidated the U.S. Forest Service's approval for the mine's evaluation phase, citing violations of the Endangered Species Act. The project has no current federal authorisation to proceed, and new analyses would be required for any future permit applications.

The mine is projected to produce between 600,000 and 750,000 ounces of gold annually once fully operational. In 2026, the company plans to use more than 20 rigs for approximately 120 kilometres of directional surface drilling. The drilling program aims for 30-35 metre spacing for indicated resources and 80-90 metre spacing for inferred resources. The plan includes 370 kilometres of surface drilling and 80 kilometres of underground drilling by the end of 2028. There is an exploration upside estimate of 32-34 million tonnes at a grade of 15-16 g/t gold outside of the 2024 mineral resource.

Overview
The Porgera mine was placed on care and maintenance in April 2020 after the government of Papua New Guinea did not renew its special mining lease. Following negotiations, a new special mining lease was granted to New Porgera Limited in October 2023. The mine officially reopened on 22 December 2023, with recommissioning work beginning immediately. The first gold pour since the restart was expected in the first quarter of 2024. Full production is anticipated to be reached by the end of 2024.
Production
Production overview - 2019: gold 600000 oz; 2009: gold 572595 oz, silver 94764 oz.
Processing
The Porgera processing plant utilises a conventional method that includes crushing, grinding, gravity recovery, flotation, pressure oxidation, and carbon-in-pulp (CIP) cyanide leaching. The plant has a capacity of approximately 6 million tonnes per year.
Equipment
new fleet of surface drill rigs from Sandvik Mining and Rock Solutions, ordered in the first quarter of 2025. This includes four Sandvik DR410i rotary blasthole drill rigs and three Leopard™ DI650i down-the-hole (DTH) drill rigs. This is in addition to new Sandvik trucks, loaders, and drills for the underground operations, with deliveries expected to continue through 2028. The open-pit mine has historically used a fleet of O&K RH 200 hydraulic excavators and Caterpillar 789 haul trucks. The underground operations are equipped with a modern trackless mining fleet.

Production overview - 2025: gold 249000 oz; 2021: gold 260000 oz.
Processing
The process plant has the capacity to process an average of 8,000 tonnes of ore per day.
Equipment
The underground mining fleet includes Sandvik TH540, TH551i, and TH663i trucks, and Caterpillar R2900G LHDs, as well as Sandvik production and development drills. In the fourth quarter of 2022, ten new Cat 777 trucks were commissioned for the open pit operations. The full fleet consists of over 400 light vehicles and trucks.
Expansion
A new crushing plant was being constructed, with commissioning planned for the fourth quarter of 2023, to improve crush size and increase throughput. The Gokona Boxcut Project commenced development of a new surface decline at the Gokona deposit at the end of 2024. The new portal on the east mine is intended to enable the mining of the Gokona cutback in 2025, with the decline development expected to be complete in the first quarter of 2025. Mining at the Gena Pit was restarted in the second half of 2023. There has been a transition from contractor to owner-miner for open cast mining.

Expansion
The Goldrush underground mine, part of the Cortez Complex, received its Record of Decision from the US Bureau of Land Management in December 2023, allowing for the immediate start of work on surface infrastructure. The total capital expenditure for the project is anticipated to be approximately $1 billion on a 100% basis. The mine is expected to ramp up production, forecasting approximately 130,000 ounces of gold in 2024 and growing to around 400,000 ounces per year by 2028 (100% basis). The Goldrush project is anticipated to create approximately 500 jobs during construction and 570 new jobs during operations.
