USD 3.20B
Overview
The Fourmile project is a significant high-grade gold discovery wholly owned and operated by Barrick Gold Corporation. Updated studies and a preliminary economic assessment confirm its potential as a large-scale, long-life, low-cost Tier 1 asset. The deposit features single refractory gold ore which requires only a single-stage roast, a metallurgical advantage over the nearby Goldrush deposit. The project is advancing through a pre-feasibility study that commenced in 2025.
Production
A preliminary economic assessment indicates a potential annual output of between 600,000 and 750,000 ounces of gold.
Processing
The development plan includes pilot autoclave and roaster test work. Ore from Fourmile can be processed at the existing Carlin-Cortez facilities, and as it ramps up it will offset lower-grade stockpiles.
Expansion
A three-year pre-feasibility study began in 2025 and is targeted for completion in late 2028. This will be followed by an independent feasibility study in 2029. Construction of the Bullion Hill exploration decline portal is scheduled to commence in late 2026. Underground access from the advancing Goldrush multi-purpose development is expected to provide critical exploration drilling access from 2027. Barrick plans to have 34 kilometres of development in place by 2029 to connect Bullion Hill with Goldrush. Mine start-up is targeted for 2030, with initial test stoping and a ramp-up to full production anticipated by 2034.
