Overview
The Aurora mine in Mineral County, Nevada, is on care and maintenance. Historically an underground operation, it produced 1.9 Moz gold and 20 Moz silver. Hecla Mining is focused on the Polaris Exploration Project, commencing in 2026, to test epithermal vein systems with open-pit potential. The site has a 600-ton-per-day mill and a 350-ton-per-day mill, both on care and maintenance. No mining occurred in 2023, with zero employees.
Production
No production at the mine in 2023. Historically, the Aurora Mining District produced 1.9 million ounces of gold and 20 million ounces of silver. Underground production between 1864 and 1920 yielded 1.5 million ounces of gold at an average grade of 2.24 ounces per ton.
Equipment
600-ton-per-day mill, 350-ton-per-day mill
Expansion
Hecla Mining is focused on the Polaris Exploration Project, which is scheduled to commence in 2026. This program will test multiple epithermal vein systems. The company has consolidated its land position and compiled historical data to define new exploration targets. The project's location includes 92 patented mining claims and 7 fee parcels, which is expected to expedite the development pathway for any future discoveries.

Expansion
Hecla Mining Company acquired 100% ownership of the Keno Hill project on 7 September 2022. The company began commissioning the plant in the second quarter of 2023. 2025 was the first year of profitability and positive free cash flow generation under Hecla's ownership. The company is focused on exploration to expand resources, with drilling testing a vein intersection northeast of the Deep Bermingham ore body and continued expansion in the Bermingham Bear Zone. A November 2025 announcement reported the identification of a potential new ore shoot at the Bermingham Deposit. Construction of a permanent centralized water treatment plant began in 2025. The Yukon government website shows several licensing documents were under review or updated in late 2025 and March 2026, including a new Reclamation and Closure Plan and designs for the dry stack tailings facility.

Hecla Mining Company is the second-largest private employer in Shoshone County, Idaho.
Overview
The Lucky Friday mine is a deep underground silver, lead, and zinc mine in the Coeur d'Alene Mining District of northern Idaho, which began operating in 1942. In 2025, the mine achieved a record-breaking silver output of 5.3 million ounces, an 8% increase over 2024. This record production was attributed to a 5% increase in throughput and a 2% rise in milled grade. As of 31 December 2025, proven and probable reserves were 78 million ounces of silver, 492.4 thousand tons of lead, and 229.4 thousand tons of zinc. Measured and indicated resources were 53.9 million ounces of silver, 359.6 thousand tons of lead and 173.3 thousand tons of zinc, with inferred resources of 27.9 million ounces of silver, 211.3 thousand tons of lead, and 100.6 thousand tons of zinc.
Production
Production overview - 2025: silver 5260686 oz, lead 34280 t, zinc 14920 t; 2024: silver 4890949 oz, lead 24000 t, zinc 11000 t.
Processing
The mine has a full surface facility with a mill that averaged 1,170 tons per day in 2025. It produces silver-lead and zinc concentrates. Actual metallurgical recoveries in 2025 were 94.5% for silver, 94.3% for lead, and 85.1% for zinc.
Equipment
Primary access to the mine is via the Silver Shaft. A key piece of infrastructure is the #4 Shaft, an internal shaft that reaches 9,600 feet below the surface and provides access to high-grade ore in the Gold Hunter/Lucky Friday Expansion Area. The mine uses a patented Underhand Closed Bench (UCB) mining method, which enhances safety and productivity by reducing fault-slip seismicity.
Expansion
Hecla Mining Company plans to invest up to $73 million in underground development, a new tailings facility, and a surface cooling project. The surface cooling project is critical for enabling operations to advance deeper into high-grade zones. As of the end of 2025, the project was 79% complete and is expected to be finished by mid-2026.

Overview
The Casa Berardi mine is an operating gold and silver mine in Quebec, Canada, with a processing capacity of 3,730 tonnes per day. It has produced approximately 3.06 million ounces of gold by the end of 2023 and is transitioning to a fully open-pit operation, with mining expected to continue until 2037.
Production
Production overview - 2024: gold 86648 oz, silver 24231 oz; 2023: gold 90363 oz, silver 22415 oz.
Processing
The Casa Berardi mill has a processing capacity of 3,730 tonnes per day, with a potential future maximum output of 4,400 tonnes per day. The processing facilities use a carbon-in-leach circuit to recover gold. The process involves a primary jaw crusher and a semi-autogenous grinding (SAG) mill.
Expansion
The Casa Berardi mine has been transitioning from a combined underground and open-pit operation to a surface-only operation. The lower-margin east mine underground operations were closed in July 2023. Underground mining was extended throughout 2025 due to a strategic review and higher gold prices. The transition to a fully open-pit operation is in progress. The final phase of the F160 open pit is expected to conclude in 2026. Mining of the WMCP pit is scheduled between 2032 and 2037. Overburden removal for the Principal pit is planned to commence in 2028, with ore mining to begin in 2030. Mining at the F134 pit will begin and conclude in 2037.
