The Tucumã Operation, formerly known as the Boa Esperança Project, is an open-pit mine located in Pará State, Brazil, within the Carajás Mineral Province. The primary commodity is copper, and the deposit is an iron oxide copper gold (IOCG) type.

Overview

The Surubim open pit mine is operated by Mineração Caraíba S.A. (MCSA), in which the Canadian company Ero Copper Corp. holds a 99.6% interest. MCSA holds a 100% interest in the Caraíba Operations, of which the Surubim Mine is a part. The mine is located in the Curaçá Valley in Bahia State, Brazil.

Production

For the full year of 2023 were 568,148 tonnes of ore mined at a copper grade of 0.62%. For the full year of 2024, tonnes of ore mined were 605,292 at 0.62% copper.
