Production
The Phase 1 concentrator produced its first concentrate on November 18, 2025, and is now in its ramp-up phase. The first sale of concentrate was made to Northam Platinum in the fourth quarter of 2025. The concentrator is initially processing lower-grade development ore and is expected to transition to higher-grade ore in the second quarter of 2026. By mid-2026, the concentrator is expected to operate at 80% of its capacity. Production guidance for 2026 has not yet been issued.
Processing
The mine is being developed in three phases. The Phase 1 concentrator has a milling capacity of 770,000 tonnes per annum. The Phase 2 expansion includes a new 3.3-million-tonne-per-annum concentrator module, bringing the total processing capacity to 4.1 million tonnes per annum. A potential Phase 3 expansion would increase processing capacity to 10.7 million tonnes per annum.
Equipment
Underground mining is conducted using mechanised methods, including long-hole stoping and drift-and-fill. Key infrastructure includes Shaft #1, which provides initial access for workers and materials. Shaft #2 is planned to be the main production shaft with a hoisting capacity of 8 million tonnes per annum. Shaft #3 is expected to be operational by April 2026, increasing the mine's total hoisting capacity five-fold to 5.0 million tonnes per annum, which will support the Phase 1 ramp-up and Phase 2 expansion. The mine also has a 5-megawatt solar power facility that was completed in the first quarter of 2025.
Expansion
Project development for the Phase 2 expansion is underway, with a targeted completion in the fourth quarter of 2027. The Phase 2 expansion is expected to increase average annual production to approximately 450,000 ounces of platinum, palladium, rhodium, and gold (3PE+Au), plus over 30 million pounds of nickel and copper. A Preliminary Economic Assessment has been completed for a future Phase 3 expansion, which would further increase annual production to over 1 million ounces of 3PE+Au. A $700 million senior project finance facility for the Phase 2 expansion has been signed.

Overview
The Cosmos Project, 100% owned by IGO Limited, is located 30km north of Leinster in Western Australia. It transitioned into care and maintenance in June 2024 following a project review that highlighted reduced expected mine life, production delays, increased costs, and deteriorating commodity prices. IGO intends to preserve the option to restart the project if market conditions improve and will assess exploration programs to increase mineral resources.
Production
Processing capacity of 1.1 million tonnes per annum. Nearly 295,000 tonnes of Odysseus ore processed before operations ceased on 22 May 2024.
Processing
The newly and partly refurbished concentrator, with a capacity of 1.1 million tonnes per annum, includes new primary, secondary, and tertiary crushing circuits. It utilises a conventional sulphide processing route with grinding and flotation technology to produce concentrate. Operations ceased on 22 May 2024 after processing nearly 295,000 tonnes of Odysseus ore.
Equipment
New primary, secondary, and tertiary crushing circuits, grinding and flotation technology. A study confirmed the feasibility of converting the planned diesel vehicle fleet to an all-electric battery-electric fleet.
Expansion
Newly and partly refurbished concentrator upgraded to a capacity of 1.1 million tonnes per annum.

Overview
The Nova Operation, wholly owned by IGO Limited, is located in the Fraser Range, approximately 160km east-northeast of Norseman in Western Australia. The underground mine consists of two orebodies, Nova and Bollinger, and produces nickel, copper, and cobalt concentrates. The operation is expected to reach its end of life by late 2026. IGO is preparing for this transition and anticipates submitting a final Mine Closure Plan to the regulator in mid-2026.
Production
Production overview - 2025: nickel 16371 t, copper 7324 t, cobalt 581 t; 2024: nickel 7085 t.
Processing
Ore is treated at a 1.8 million tonne per annum concentrator plant. The process involves single-stage crushing followed by a two-stage grinding circuit with a SAG and ball mill. A differential flotation process is then used to create separate nickel and copper concentrates, which also contain cobalt. Tailings are either pumped to a cemented paste back-fill plant for use underground or to a surface tailings storage facility.
Equipment
The operation is powered by a hybrid system consisting of a 19MW diesel-fired power station and a 5.5MW solar farm. An additional 10.2MW of solar capacity is being installed to enable periods of 100% renewable power generation, allowing the diesel engines to be turned off during daylight hours. In October 2024, IGO signed a 29-month contract extension with Barminco, worth $157 million, to continue providing underground mining services.

Production
The first sale of concentrate was completed to Northam Platinum in the fourth quarter of 2025. Lower-grade development ore was used for the initial ramp-up. Higher-grade production ore from long-hole stoping blocks will be hoisted and processed starting in the second quarter of 2026, following the commissioning of Shaft #3. The Phase 2 expansion is designed to increase average annual production to approximately 450,000 ounces of platinum, palladium, rhodium and gold (3PE+Au), plus over 30 million pounds of nickel and copper.
Processing
The Phase 1 concentrator has a milling capacity of 770,000 tonnes per annum. Construction was completed in the third quarter of 2024, and following hot commissioning, the first concentrate was produced on 18 November 2025. The concentrator is ramping up, with a target to reach 80% of its nameplate capacity by mid-2026. A Phase 2 expansion is underway to increase the total processing capacity to 4.1 million tonnes per annum (Mtpa). A future Phase 3 expansion is being assessed, which would increase total processing capacity to 10.7 Mtpa. A 5 MW solar power facility to support operations was completed in the first quarter of 2025.
Expansion
The mine is being developed in phases. Phase 1 is in operation. Development for the Phase 2 expansion is underway, with completion targeted for the fourth quarter of 2027. A $700 million senior project finance facility was signed to fund the Phase 2 expansion. Shaft #3 is on track to be operational by April 2026, which will increase the mine's total hoisting capacity five-fold to 5 million tonnes per annum, supporting both Phase 1 and Phase 2 operations. Widening of Shaft #2, which will support the future Phase 3 expansion, is expected to commence in April 2026. The Phase 3 expansion aims to increase production to over 1 million ounces of 3PE+Au annually.

Overview
The Cosmos Project, wholly owned by Australian mining company IGO Limited, is an underground nickel mine located in Western Australia. In January 2024, IGO announced the decision to transition the Cosmos Project into care and maintenance, a process that was completed in June 2024. This decision was prompted by a review that indicated a reduced mine life, delays in reaching full production capacity, and increased operating and capital costs, all exacerbated by a significant decline in nickel prices. IGO intends to maintain the site, preserving the option to restart operations should market conditions become more favourable.
