Opened
1964-01-01
Overview
This historic underground mine has reportedly produced approximately 2 million tonnes of ore at a grade of 2% copper and 0.3 g/t gold since mining began in 1964. The mineralisation is associated with a sequence of moderately east-dipping sandstone and limestone/andesite units with extensive skarn alteration. Hot Chili is conducting drilling programs to define and upgrade the resource, with the aim of incorporating it into the larger Costa Fuego development plan as a potential open-pit operation.

Overview
The Productora project is an advanced stage copper-gold-molybdenum project operated by Hot Chili Limited. It is located in the Atacama Region of Chile, approximately 600 kilometres north of Santiago and 15 minutes from the city of Vallenar. Productora is a key component of Hot Chili's larger Costa Fuego Copper-Gold Project.
Production
For the integrated Costa Fuego project, the average annual production during the first 14 years is projected to be 95,000 tonnes of copper and 48,000 ounces of gold. Sulphide concentrator throughput of 20.7 Mtpa, oxide leach facility processing 4 Mtpa of ore, producing up to 12,000 tonnes per annum of copper cathode.
Processing
Central processing facilities for the entire Costa Fuego project will be located at Productora. These facilities will include a sulphide concentrator with a nominal throughput of 20.7 million tonnes per annum (Mtpa) to produce copper and molybdenum concentrates with gold and silver credits. Additionally, there will be an oxide leach facility designed to process 4 Mtpa of ore via a heap leach and a solvent extraction-electrowinning (SX-EW) plant to produce up to 12,000 tonnes per annum of copper cathode.
Equipment
truck and shovel operation
Expansion
Productora is a key component of Hot Chili's larger Costa Fuego Copper-Gold Project, which also includes the Cortadera and San Antonio deposits. A Pre-Feasibility Study (PFS) for the integrated Costa Fuego project was announced in March 2025, with a Definitive Feasibility Study (DFS) and an Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) planned to follow. First production from the Costa Fuego project is anticipated before the end of the decade.

Feasibility
CopperGoldMolybdenumSilver
Mine life
20 years
Overview
The Cortadera project is a large-scale copper-gold porphyry discovery located in the Atacama Region of Chile. It is operated by the Australian mining company Hot Chili Limited, which holds a 100% interest in the deposit through its wholly-owned subsidiary, Sociedad Minera La Frontera SpA. Cortadera is the centrepiece of Hot Chili's larger Costa Fuego copper-gold project, which also includes the Productora and San Antonio deposits.
Production
The production target for the Cortadera portion of the project is based on 45% of the material from Probable Ore Reserves and 67% from Indicated Mineral Resources.
Processing
Ore from Cortadera is planned to be transported to a central processing facility via a rope conveyor. The centralised processing facilities for the Costa Fuego project will include a 20.7 Mtpa sulphide concentrator and a 4 ktpa cathode solvent extraction, electrowinning (SX-EW) plant. The processing will utilise raw sea water, which will be extracted from a permitted coastal location 60 km from the plant. Metallurgical testwork has indicated weighted recoveries for Cortadera and San Antonio of 82% for copper, 55% for gold, 82% for molybdenum, and 37% for silver.
Equipment
truck and shovel operations, rope conveyor
Expansion
Cortadera is the centrepiece of Hot Chili's larger Costa Fuego copper-gold project, which also includes the Productora and San Antonio deposits. A Pre-Feasibility Study (PFS) was completed in March 2025. An Environmental Impact Assessment for Costa Fuego was planned for submission in 2025.
