Overview
Hecla Mining Company holds a 100% interest in the San Juan Silver project, located in the historic Creede Mining District in Colorado. The project is currently in the exploration and development stage and is considered a high-impact development project by the company. It marks the first time the entire Creede district, which has a history of producing over 84 million ounces of silver, has been consolidated under a single owner. The project's land holdings consist of 129 patented lode and millsite claims, fee lands, and 704 unpatented lode claims, covering a total of 13,645 acres. The primary focus of the project is the historic Bulldog Mine area, which operated from 1969 to 1985 and produced 25 million ounces of silver. Hecla is working towards accessing the underground infrastructure to confirm and expand the existing resources.

Processing
The mine operates an ore concentrating mill. The processing method involves a conventional flotation concentrator that produces a gravity gold concentrate, a silver concentrate, a zinc concentrate, and a precious metals concentrate. In 2024, 46% of the tailings were reused as backfill in the underground mine.
Expansion
In January 2026, the U.S. Forest Service approved a five-year plan of operations for the Greens Creek Surface Exploration Project. This project will explore for mineral deposits including silver, gold, lead, and zinc on Forest Service lands on Admiralty Island. Hecla Mining is also investigating the economic potential of recovering and reprocessing critical minerals from the mine's tailings, which contain silver, gold, zinc, lead, copper, and other minerals. There is also an early-stage project for the expansion of the dry-stack tailings facility.

Processing
The Greens Creek mine is an underground operation that processes approximately 2,300 tons of ore per day. The primary mining methods are cut-and-fill and longhole stoping. The ore concentrating mill uses a flotation process to recover silver, gold, lead, and zinc. Metallurgical recoveries for 2025 were 79.3% for silver, 74% for gold, 82.6% for lead, and 88.8% for zinc. The company is evaluating a pyrite concentrate circuit to potentially boost silver and gold recoveries. A tailings reprocessing project is also being assessed to recover minerals from the 10.4 million tons of tailings in the dry-stack facility.
Expansion
In January 2026, the U.S. Forest Service approved a five-year plan of operations for the Greens Creek Surface Exploration Project. The project aims to identify new mineral targets not accessible from underground to extend the mine's life. This follows the approval for the Greens Creek North Extension Project, which extends the existing dry-stack tailings disposal facility. The company is also evaluating a pyrite concentrate circuit and a tailings reprocessing project. The tailings facility is estimated to contain 50 million ounces of silver and nearly 600,000 ounces of gold.

Overview
The Republic project in Washington is an ongoing exploration project for Hecla Mining Company. It is classified as an "emerging opportunity" within the company's portfolio. The project is situated in Washington's most significant historical gold-producing district. Hecla's land package in the district spans 3,583 acres and covers all major productive historical trends, including Knob Hill, Surprise, Lone Pine-Last Chance, Tom Thumb, and Golden Promise. The company is utilising modern exploration techniques, including the integration of historical datasets with 3D modelling, to assess the area's potential. Recent exploration has yielded multiple high-grade gold intercepts, which confirm the potential for new discoveries. The last recorded production by Hecla in this district was from the Golden Promise mine, which ceased operations in 1995. The Republic project constitutes 1% of Hecla's exploration budget. As of the latest corporate presentations and reports, no new specific data regarding updated coordinates, workforce size, equipment, processing details, production figures, mine life, or a timeline for potential development has been released. The project remains in the exploration phase with a focus on systematic, data-driven discovery.

SilverGoldLeadZincCopper
Overview
The Kinskuch property is a key component of Contango Silver & Gold's larger Kitsault Valley Project, which is in an exploration and resource definition phase. The acquisition of Kinskuch in May 2025 significantly increased the Kitsault Valley Project's land package to approximately 77,000 hectares. The property is considered underexplored, with historical work being limited. It added the "Illiance trend" to the company's exploration portfolio, a 30-kilometer-long trend of prospective Hazelton Group rocks. The property is covered by a recently renewed five-year exploration permit on both Nisga'a and Gitanyow Traditional Lands. Historical exploration by previous operators identified the Illiance River VMS (volcanogenic massive sulphide) target with gold, silver, zinc, and lead, and drilling by Homestake Resource Corp in 2011 yielded encouraging results.
Expansion
Following the acquisition in 2025, Dolly Varden Silver (now part of Contango Silver & Gold) commenced a significant diamond drilling program across its Kitsault Valley Project. The initial 2025 program was a minimum of 35,000 metres and was later expanded to 55,000 metres. For the Kinskuch property specifically, an initial program of geological mapping and reconnaissance of the Illiance trend was planned for the 2025 exploration season to generate priority drill targets. The Illiance trend has seen little modern exploration, with only localized diamond drilling by Hecla on the three-kilometre-long Illy epithermal system. For 2026, Contango Silver & Gold has announced a transformative 40,000-metre surface drilling program for the entire Kitsault Valley Project, which will include testing high-priority exploration targets across the company's wider holdings. This program aims to support a preliminary development plan in the form of a Preliminary Economic Assessment/Initial Assessment (PEA/IA) for the Kitsault Valley assets. While the Kinskuch area is part of this broader exploration effort, specific drilling plans or a breakdown of the metre allocation for the Illiance trend have not been detailed in the available information.
