Newmont completes its executive transition as Tom Palmer retires, leaving Chief Executive Officer Natascha Viljoen to manage the massive newly expanded global gold asset portfolio.

Newmont Corporation has concluded its carefully managed leadership handover. Following a transition period, former leader Tom Palmer officially retired as a strategic advisor on March 31 2026. This move completes the changing of the guard as Natascha Viljoen settles into her role as President and Chief Executive Officer.
Ms Viljoen officially took the helm at the start of the year, becoming the first woman to lead the historic gold mining company.
Her immediate focus remains on integrating recently acquired tier one assets and driving operational excellence across the newly expanded global portfolio.
