Ms Constable continued, "We have a long history of prosperity for our people and communities being generated by a range of minerals, including traditional resources and most recently the addition of critical minerals that power the world and make modern life possible including telecommunications, health and defence.

"The new agreements being signed today on critical minerals, taxation and defence mark a new era in our historic and enduring partnership.

Today’s visit also shows that we have moved beyond competition to recognising the importance of investment to secure strong supply chains that benefit the global marketplace and strategic partnerships that use our vast networks, knowledge and resources for the mutual benefit of Canada and Australia."
