The global mining community is preparing for a monumental shift at the top of the largest resource company in the world. BHP Group Chief Executive Officer Mike Henry will formally step down on July 1 2026, after steering the company through over six years of strategic portfolio restructuring.

Brandon Craig, who most recently served as President Americas for BHP, has been selected as the next leader. Mr Craig brings deep operational experience - particularly in copper and iron ore. This succession highlights the corporate priority placed on expanding future facing commodities, as BHP cements its position as a dominant global copper producer.
