Barrick Sharpens North American Gold Focus Ahead of Planned U.S. Listing
Barrick Mining Corporation (NYSE: B, TSX: ABX) has taken another step toward separating its North American gold assets into a new listed vehicle, tightening management around one of the world’s most productive gold portfolios. The significance lies in sharper operating focus around Nevada Gold Mines and a clearer U.S. capital markets profile.

Barrick has moved further along the path toward a standalone North American vehicle, naming key executives for the business that will hold its U.S. and other North American gold assets ahead of a planned listing by the end of 2026.
The new company, North American Barrick, is being built around some of the most important gold operations in the Nevada Gold Mines system, including Carlin, Cortez and Turquoise Ridge, along with the Fourmile project in Nevada.
The significance of the move lies in what it says about asset quality and portfolio structure. Barrick’s North American assets produced about 2 million attributable ounces of gold in 2025, giving the proposed entity immediate scale in one of the deepest gold mining regions in the world. Nevada Gold Mines remains the centre of gravity, with multiple underground mines, active open pits and integrated processing infrastructure already in place across the Carlin, Cortez, Turquoise Ridge and Phoenix systems.
For the market, the proposed spinout is less about creating a new story than tightening an existing one. Nevada already carries the operational weight, reserve depth and infrastructure density that global gold producers spend years trying to assemble.
What Barrick is doing now is giving those assets a more direct corporate frame, one aligned with New York capital markets and with standalone management focused specifically on North American performance.
That makes the development significant beyond executive appointments alone. It reflects the continuing premium that large-scale, long-life U.S. gold assets can command when they sit inside a mature district with established processing, logistics and exploration upside. In that context, Carlin and the broader Nevada Gold Mines portfolio remain among the strongest gold positions in North America.
